Can't change online status on pc and xbox

    i'm trying to change my online status from online to do not disturb but every time i try to change the status my status goes to unknown tried on xbox and pc to change status but get the status unknown on both systems. also checked if the privacy setting where changed but everything is still the same privacy setting

    Hey there, if you can't afford the name change you could try changing some of your privacy settings so that random people can't send you messages or see your online status.

    If you can't see him online on your friends list, his privacy settings must be blocking anyone from seeing his online status.

    To change this go to Xbox Home(Dashboard) > Settings > Privacy > Change settings > ...

    If you look on the Custom Setting, you will see the Option "Online Status"

    If you can't see him online his "Online Status" setting must be on "Blocked"

    Which means nobody at all can see him online.

    Change this to Friends or Everyone.

    Problem should be fixed.

    Let me know If it's not and I'll quite happily look into it and help out more!

    Hello Don, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

    Please try changing your status on the console. If that does not work then change your status to offline then back online on your PC.

    Same here. Cannot connect through PC.

    Nothing's changed on my PC, and nothing's changed on the router.

    Was all fine since yesterday. Today, it times out, and refers me to checking the XBOX LIVE online status, which surprise surprise, says all is fine.
