Can't change my GamerTag

    Can't change my GamerTag


    I've been trying to change my gamertag but it keeps giving me this 801540A4 error code. I try looking the code up but nothing happens..What's going on?

    Can't change my gamertag

    Ukraine is not a xbox live supported country so you will run into issues.

    Not much you can do.Your billing,account & actual location must all match.If they don't then you will run into all sorts of problems.

    Alright. So I've been trying to change my gamertag lately, but it always comes up with an error code, asking me to try again later. The next morning when I tried it, it still wouldn't work. I've wasted my 25$ on an Xbox gift card, if anyone can help it would
    be much appreciated.

    Hi,

    This is usually caused by an error with a billing issue. Please update your Microsoft account payment options by removing any unused options. To do this, go to Change a payment option,
    select Remove a payment option on the left side of the screen, and then follow the instructions.

    If there's only one payment option associated with your Microsoft account, remove it using the same removal steps described above, and then re-add it by selecting Add payment option on the left side of the same screen and then following the instructions.

    Please make sure that your Microsoft Account Security proofs (Recovery Email, Phone number, etc..) are up-to date here: Security.

    Lets try changing your Xbox Gamertag on Xbox.com

    1. Go to the Change gamertag page at account.xbox.com.
    2. Sign in using the Microsoft account email address and password associated with your gamertag.
    3. Enter your new gamertag, and then select Check Availability.

    Purchasing errors can be caused by issues on the account itself. Be sure to check if your billing information is correct at
    http://billing.microsoft.com and also check
    http://account.microsoft.com/services for any outstanding amount issues, these need to be sorted prior to being able to purchase something.

    Also check if you can login at xbox.com and account.xbox.com and verify what GT is shown.

    After that try changing the gamertag on both xbox console and via xbox.com

    If you can't find anything wrong and it is still not working, best thing to do is to contact official Xbox Support via Phone or Microsoft Support Chat at
    http://support.xbox.com/contact-us they can do a more indepth look into this issue.

    Don't reply back kid. Not sure why they have a disrespectful joke kid like you as an Ambassador. They need to rectify that.

    Yeah. Like I mentioned, not possible. But someone who works for xbox who can, could change it, then change it back. Just hoping someone on here does it so I don't have to deal with calling.
