    Can't Change Microsoft Account Associated with Profile


    I'm trying to change the email address associated with my gamertag (again) and can't.

    The first attempt was back in October 2014, I called support and the guy walked me though what he thought was the correct process. The original email address for my gamertag was, let's call it, *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** and I wanted to change it to *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***. After
    trying the change microsoft account thing via the xbox, tech guy had me log into My.Games from a computer and try to add My.Main as an alias and when that didn't work he said just pick another one of my non-microsoft emails. I used *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***. He then instructed
    me to remove My.Games a reassured me that I'd be able to re-add it. I did it and I can never get My.Games@live back ever again, which made a couple accounts associated with that email inaccessible.

    I am now trying to move my tag from My.Uni to My.Main.

    The Current Microsoft account:

    Only has an Xbox subscription associated with it. No purchases from the windows store. Doesn't have more than one billing account.

    And has not been downloaded to a new console, or other wise moved.

    The Target Microsoft Account:

    No gamertag/xbox profile. No subscriptions, no purchases. no paid onedrive space.

    But it is logged on as the main account on my Windows Surface pro tablet.

    Still when I attempt the switch: "Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft Account right now."

    What's up Microsoft???

    Help with changing Microsoft account associated with Xbox Live account

    I currently have a Microsoft account that is linked with my Xbox Live profile. I wish to change the Microsoft account associated with my Xbox Live profile to a different Microsoft account, but my current Microsoft account has a subscription to Office 365,
    therefore it does not meet the criteria to change the associated account. Is there any way that I can bypass this criteria and switch the account associated with my Xbox Live profile?

    Issues with Microsoft account changes

    I have been trying to change the Microsoft account associated with my Xbox Live Profile, but it says "Sorry we can't change your Microsoft account right now." I made sure all the standards are met and it's been at least 30 days since I changed anything
    with my profile or downloaded it to a Xbox. Can anyone help please?

    Is this account auto signed in to a Xbox 360 console?

    If it is,

    you can go to Settings > Account Settings > Account Security > Change Microsoft Account

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

    I understand that you are having problems trying to change your Xbox and Microsoft account association.

    I will address your issue in as much detail as possible to explain the Microsoft account and Xbox account association.

    Allow me to clarify that if you want to change your Xbox account login, you can change the login email used for your Xbox account by adding an alias to it. For example, if you add an email alias to the Microsoft email associated with your Xbox account and set it as the primary alias, this alias can be used as your new Xbox login email, but existing Hotmail, Live, Outlook.com, and MSN addresses can't be added as aliases, and you can't add an alias that is already associated with another Microsoft account.

    Since your primary email is linked to another Xbox account that can't be deleted, then this operation is basically impossible to accomplish, and you can refer to the discussion in this thread regarding your desire to remove the old Xbox profile from your account and put the correct Xbox profile into your primary email:

    You can't move or transfer from one account to another, all you can do is change the email account associated with that profile.
