    cant change gamertag xbox because of many reasons


    i can't change my account's gamertag, it's asking me for a card which is unavailable for me and a gift card (doesn't work since i live in the netherlands and it's region locked in united kingdom - no idea, can't change it also ugh).
    it's because my friend though he logged in his account but it was mine since i visited his place but forgot to log out, now he changed his gamertag (on my account without knowing) and i can't change it because of the before mentioned reasons. is there a possibility
    to change it over your side?

    Hi,

    A gamertag change its only a change about your nickname ( the 1st change is free ) , you cant change the country region for many reason , now if you live in another country, you have to call Xbox live helpdesk and provide a proof of your actual country
    then the agent will update the country.

    Imagine if Microsoft made Gamertag changing free, just think how many kids out there who change their mind like the weather on what cool thing is in, one day they like X the next day they like Y.

    Now imagine how many name changes would happen because of this, the charge was put in for a reason, not because Microsoft wants to make profit from this, because they more than likely make very little money at all from it, it was put in to stop people constantly changing their Gamertags.

    At the end of the day its not Microsofts fault that you spelt your Gamertag wrong, so why should Microsoft not charge you for wanting to change it? also if they didnt charge you for this mistake, then surely they would have to stop charging everybody.

    Either live with your new Gamertag or pay the $10.

    there is no free gamertag Change with the only exception it is randomly changed because it violated the Terms of use - which in your case seems to be the reason. it doesnt matter how many reports there were, a single one may be enough if a Violation is detected.

    a gamertag must be Chosen to comply with Rating e for everyone, no bad language or lookalikes allows, neither using shortforms or numbers instead of letters.

    Requesting a Gamertag change

    I have very high regards for Xbox Live but allowing me to change my gamertag without the price is very arbitrary as I have stated a valid reason why I should be able to change my gamertag. I am pretty sure there are many other XBL users out there who change
    their gamertag maliciously.
