Can't change gamertag for free

    Can't change gamertag for free


    I can't change my gamertag for free even without changing it for the first time. I've had the same one for about 3 three years, and it's the only one I've had. I was wondering if I could get some help on the issue.

    Gamertag question?

    You can easily change your Xbox Live gamertag. If your gamertag was created for you during your initial Xbox Live sign-up (meaning, you did not choose your gamertag), you can change the gamertag once for free. Additional Xbox Live gamertag changes cost extra

    Xbox Live Gamertag

    Why do Xbox only let you change your gamertag once for free?? Why can't we change our gamertag for free when we renew our xbox live... because in theory we can create a new xbox live account but then we lose our gamerscore.

    The free gamertag change is for when you first create a gamertag or when you first join Live. When this happens you're initially assigned a random tag that usually ends in a string of numbers. As your GS is over 50,000 and your tag seems to be personalized
    that suggests the free change may have already been used.

    If you want to change your tag, I'm afraid you'll need to pay the fee.

    You can't change gamertag 5 times per year. You get one free change, if you accept the given gamertag, after that it is $10 per change.

    You can't delete your gamertag, you can only change the name but there is a fee associated with that if you change it beyond the one free change you get when you make a gamertag.

    If you've made the account BEFORE they started giving the option to change it once for free, then you can't change it for free.
