    Can't change gamertag for free?


    I am trying to change my Xbox gamertag; every time I try to do so I'm directed to pay for it. If I'm not wrong all accounts are allowed one free gamertag change, which I distinctly remember has never been utilised before on my end. Can someone assist me
    on this?

    Can't Change Gamertag

    I was attempting to change my gamer tag for the first time. The one I want is available but every time I attempt I receive the following error code:

    PaymentInstrumentsGet
    333bc30d-7ca1-419f-b0ea-313e2304a442

    Not sure why I am getting an error message. Also I thought you get one free change, maybe that is the reason there is an issue?

    You can't change gamertag 5 times per year. You get one free change, if you accept the given gamertag, after that it is $10 per change.

    You can't delete your gamertag, you can only change the name but there is a fee associated with that if you change it beyond the one free change you get when you make a gamertag.

    If you've made the account BEFORE they started giving the option to change it once for free, then you can't change it for free.
