Can't change GamerTag, Account locked to a different region

Hi,

I can't change my GamerTag. When I do it asks me to verify my location information and all that information is locked to the United States (select a state, zipcode, etc.)

When I try to change the region for my account (from United States to New Zealand, where I live), it says my account region has changed in the past 12 months and so can't be changed again.

I don't recall ever changing the accounts region previously.

Something went wrong

Gold memberships are region locked and can only be used for the country that they were intended. Also, if your gamertag is set for a different country then you could run into issues purchasing and downloading items.

Please follow the steps at the link below to change your gamertag's region to your country so you can use your code.

Changing the console location in settings will not change anything.

You can't use the code because your North American Account region does not match the region of your IP, South Korea.

To stop people creating accounts for different regions to get around content locks, many items require account region and physical region to match.

Conditions that can prevent you from changing your country/region:

If you’re prevented from changing the country/region for your Xbox, it may be for one of the reasons below:

• You changed country/regions within the last three months.
• Your account is currently suspended (for example, the credit card on one of your subscriptions has expired).
  
• You are a minor (as defined by applicable law) in your current country/region and will not be a minor in the region you’re moving to.
  
• You are not a minor (as defined by applicable law) in your current country/region but will be considered a minor in the country/region you’re moving to.
  
• You have a balance due on your Xbox subscription.
