    Can't change gamertag, 403 forbidden


    Hi, I am trying to change my gamertag using this page : https://social.xbox.com/changegamertag

    The gamertag is available, I click change but nothing happens.

    When I look in the Edge developer console, I see the following:

    Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden) accounts.xboxlive.com/users/current/profile/gamertag:1

    Is this a known issue or do I need to do something else to work around this? I've also tried doing this via the Xbox console and nothing happens when I click 'change'

    there is an issue with the Gt change system since the past few days.

    Just be patient and try again later.

    I'm having the same issue. I'm trying to purchase dlc for Mass Effect to play on my One and I can't do it. When I try through my Xbox One, it just stays stuck on working. I've tried to purchase through the website as well and it just keeps giving me a
    403 forbidden error code.

    The 403 Forbidden error is a status code which means that accessing the page or resource you were trying to reach is absolutely forbidden for some reason. It could also mean that the page or website you're trying to access is no longer available.
    You may check the internet connection on your computer to make sure that this is not an internet connection issue. If the network connection is fine check if your account is registered as under 18+

    Have been trying to make this gamertag that reset in 2016 for years and it still won't let me create.

    If you cant use the word in your bio or any thing it is likely a forbidden word on the system and using it as a gamertag would result in a forced name change eventually. Perhaps tell us what the gamertag you want is and we maybe able to help more
