Cant change email associated with minecraft

I've gone into a rabbit hole and nothing provided answers, solve one problem, another appears.

Basically, I migrated from a mojang to microsoft account on minecraft although I misspelled the email name. I went to change the associated email with my minecraft account by changing aliases and then making the proper one the primary. When I do this it says that the account is already taken although I clicked add existing account. I'm just done at this point, any advice not written in code would be nice, thanks.

Sorry, I should've worded this better. My original email associated with the account is fine. But they changed the email associated with the Minecraft account.

Ok so you can change the email associated with your xbox account. The issue here for you is that you wont be able to confirm the email change from the old account since you cant access it.

Make sure you just changed the email associated with your account and not the whole account. If the issues is only with Minecraft contact Mojang's support.

My daughter plays Minecraft under her brother's email address.

My son plays Minecraft under my email address.

Both children want to use their own email address without losing their profiles.

I don't understand how adding an alias will work. I don't want to delete my Microsoft account. I want to change the email associated with Minecraft only.
