Cant change child account, have the parent one deleted.

My problem is that I am stuck on child restrictions for xbox, I tried to get my dad to help me take it off since at the time I had first created the account I was too young to actually have an adult account, but this August I will officially
turn 18 because right now i’m 17 and a half. My dad can't change it because we had to make an new email because my dad is the only one who has an email, but he didn't really want the xbox stuff to be all over his email, especially since he does a lot of work
stuff with it, so we made a new email. And the problem is that we haven't been on the parent email for about 3 years and it has been deleted and we can't change anything. I have an email still active but that doesn't change the fact. I really would like to
go on apps such as hulu and etc. If you can help that would be great.

The child account will be orphaned, hence, no parent account will be able to make changes on their privacy and online safety settings.

 

Parents Beware

Dont use the console as a child minding device. The child must not have a Child account as if you have a child account you cant change anything without the parent account signed n also

 

You have to wait till you actually turn 18

And no you only made it harder for yourself

Anyways on the bright side even if you deleted the parental email the ms's account still.applirs

You need to 1 wait till you turn 18 then promote the account

This requires two things your own creditcard plus the parental password to upgradeto an adult accoumt

 

You cannot change the age of an account til you reach the age of majority as per the law

 

As what ngocphi mentioned, you cannot just promote the account into an adult account especially when the account itself haven't reached the right age. Changing the birthdate of the account won't affect it. The system recognizes the first information that
was added on the account.

Though what I could actually recommend is to try to recover the parental account. If you can't remember what is the email assigned to the parent. You could try to contact chat or phone support. They should be able to determine the parental email associated
to your family.

Once you recover the parent account. You can use that to change your settings to allow the account to access other stuffs. But just to give you a heads up. There are still contents that even if your privacy settings are already set to allow and everything,
there will still be contents that you will not be able to access.

There is a proccess to recover the parental windows id

But first you must attempt.to contact the windows live team .and go thru the proccess if it cannot be recovered you can then talk to xbox again and ask for an expired or deleted parental account case this reassign the parental.id

 

Keep in mind the expired cases do take longer then attempting to have the windows live team attempting to recover it

As it is going back and forth between the xbox and windows live team that's whyninsuggest you goto.the windows live team first

This does not remove the child account status
