    Can't cancel auto-renewal for xbox live


    So Microsoft recently offered gold for $1, so I figured I'd get it. However, as expected it sets you up for an automatic renewal, which is highly manipulative...The issue here, is when I went to cancel it before they charged me for it, I found that my security
    info was outdated and I didn't have the phone number or the e-mail which was used to get the code. So I updated the number, got the call and entered it.

    Now, it's giving me this message: This site requires a security code to sign in. When your security info is updated on 07/07/2015, you will be able to access this site. You can still access sites such as Outlook and Skype that don't require a security
    code.



    So I have to wait a month to gain access to my account in order to cancel the auto-renewal? This can't be the case right? Because there's no way I'm getting charged for something I do not want but do not have the ability to cancel.

    This happens because when somebody subscribes any subscription the "Auto Renew" options becomes activated by default and the card cannot be removed as payment method while this auto renew is enable. To turn off you need to login with his account here in

    Services and Subscriptions     and under Xbox Live should appear the option to "manage auto renew", hit it and should appear "disable auto renew".

    If you can't access with his account I think the better is to cancel directly in the bank. I think they can just cancel charges for a specific company and dont need to cancel the card.
