Can't cancel a game installation/update

So, I go into my queue and navigate to the installing/updating game. I press the menu button, there is a pause installation option but no cancel option. And every time I pause it so I can make some progress on some DLC I want to install the game starts
installing again. I can already play the full game on disc, so its probably an update. Either way, I can't stop it. Any suggestions?

It happens because you installed the update before installing the game. Take it out, cancel the install completely, put it back in, and decline the update until it is done installing, then you can do the update.

Can't cancel broken installation

Fully remove the game. Saved data and all.

Power cycle the console by holding down the power button for 10 seconds.

Restart the console and reinstall the game.

Instead of pausing the game installation, can you go straight to the DLC and hit Menu followed by Resume Installation? Does that work for you?

Let us know how you get on, though based on when you posted there's a chance your console has had time to download both.

I can go through "My games & apps", then straight to the Queue tab, where I then navigate to the desired DLC. I press the Menu button, and yes I can resume the installation, the problem is despite resuming the DLC, the game will start to download again
interrupting the DLC's progress. I feel that everything is showing up except the cancel option. And letting it download wouldn't generally be considered a problem. However when you have internet like mine, and after a 4 days of straight downloading has
only gotten the game to 7%, it is quite an annoyance. So, unfortunately, neither of the downloads have finished.

You can pause updates, but you can't cancel them. The reason is because updates modify the contents of the already installed game files directly. Incidently, this why you can't play a game that is in the process of being updated.

This isn't something that can be fixed in a dashboard update. The files for updates aren't downloaded then installed, they are downloaded and installed at the same time.

Updates overwrite the original game files. If your installed game is say 40GB, and the update is 10GB, this won't necessarily mean your updated game now uses 50GB.

Hello, first of all thanks for your answer. I will explain it in English so everybody can understand what's happening.

I installed the game, played it some hours and quit, then it suddently started to update but the update was reinstalling the game, so i did cancel it and tried to start the game. Since this, the game does not start, i tried to uninstall and reinstall it,
but i can't reinstall it because it shows the game already is in my library.

So, i can't install and i can't play it.

Please make sure you don't cancel an update during it's proces.

If you cancel an ongoing update, it will remove the game and will force you to install the complete game again.

Whenever you cancel an update while it's updating your game you are corrupting your install that way

This is why it tells you not to cancel an system update when you download updates

I'm not prepared to reserve it to factory sorry as I have other games I'm not willing to lose the saved data on. I've tried cancelling the install but it's still showing and I can't play Minecraft without updating it!
