  1. Can't Buy Xbox 360 BackWard Compatible Games on my Xbox One

I am unable to purchase Xbox 360 BackWard Compatible Games on my Xbox One or anything related to Xbox 360. Even stuff for my Avatar can't be bought on my GamerTag, since stuff for the Avatar is connected to the Xbox 360.

I didn't say I threw out my Xbox 360. I still have it. However, my Xbox Live account only covers my Xbox One. Therefore, certain DLCs I want, I can't have unless that game becomes backwards compatible. I also can't move from my Steam versions of the original
Far Cry and Call of Duty unless the Classic titles become backwards compatible so I can buy, download and install them on my Xbox One. Plus, I want to eventually sell the Xbox 360 for money, but I can't until all the games I mentioned become backwards compatible.
I think we can all agree that it would be nice for titles like these to become compatible.

Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse on Xbox One?

Thanks for your answer. So if I buy the game I can download it on my Xbox One despite I can't find it on Xbox One store? I think if the game is backward compatible it would also be available in the Xbox One store. Or am I wrong?

If you're on a child account you won't be able to make 360 purchases due to restrictions. If you're not on a child account, you need a payment method (credit card or Paypal) on file in order to make 360 purchases, even if they're free.

Wow, that's kind of BS. Chalk up another reason to not buy an X1. I've never had a card on file with MS, I refuse to. I've always used my balance which I add to with prepaid cards and Bing rewards. I don't like the idea of MS demanding direct access to my
funds if I want full functionality with an X1.

That's how I am. I still have my 360s though, but it's annoying to have to go through them in order to make a purchase instead of just using the One or the website.

That's a good point. I do plan on keeping my 360 even after I eventually get an X1. However, I wasn't planning on keeping it connected all the time after upgrading.

i highly doubt anyone from MS will read this and take what I say into consideration, but I am fed up with the X1. I have been an Xbox owner/player for over 15 years and the backwards compatibility thing is making me want to switch to PlayStation. I bought
an X1 and immediately started Fallout 4 which I have played and finished. I am transitioning back into FPS games which are my games of choice and none of my 360 favorites are available. It is really saddening to me that X1 is making us wait so long to release
MW2, older Ghost Recons and others. I'm just very unsatisfied and frustrated spending more and more money on trying to find a new game as a result of Microsoft's failure to get it together and move more quickly. Honestly I wish I hadn't bought this X1 and
just purchased a used 360 after my original 360 from 2006 red-ringed. Your customers are losing patience, Microsoft! Especially when we pay for access to online multiplayer networks! I'm so *** off.

You bought a Xbox One to play Xbox 360 games?

Well that's where you went wrong, why did you not just buy a new Xbox 360?

It took a lot of effort to get backwards compatibility to work on the Xbox One & at the end of the day it's down to a games developers to make their games playable on the Xbox One,not Microsoft.

By all means get a PlayStation but you do have to pay for the PS3/PS2/PS games again if you want to play them on the PS4,even if you already own them.

    Xbox One backwards compatibility

The "Backwards Compatibility" only exists for games that they have told the XBox ONE to recognise as "Backwards Compatible".

Most of the games on the XBox 360 simply will not work on the XBox ONE.

Microsoft will claim the reason they can't make everything available at once is that they need a Publisher's permission to make the game Backwards Compatible.

But the real reason Backwards Compatibility exists is to lure XBox 360 owners who have been on the fence for a while into the false supposition that they will be able to play their 360 games on the ONE.

If you could do that... why not buy a ONE?

Can I buy an backwards compatible game on xbox one, then download it on my 360?

Yes, but only backwards compatable games. For example, you can't buy some games on the Xbox One, onky the 360.

    Downloadable Content

If the DLC is for the Xbox One version of the game, then no, you can't use that DLC on the Xbox 360 version of the game.

For example, Assassins Creed IV Black Flag is a Backwards Compatible Xbox 360 game that works on the Xbox One. However, if you buy Xbox One DLC, then this will NOT work on the Xbox 360 version of the game.

But if you get the Xbox 360 DLC content for a Backwards Compatible game, the DLC will work on the emulated Xbox 360 on Xbox One.

There is not a One version of the game, but the 360 version is backwards compatible so it will play on the One.
