Can't buy items through Xbox.com for Xbox 360

With the advent of backward compatibility, it's becoming more of a priority for gamers to use the Xbox.com site to purchase Xbox 360 content, to play on Xbox One (specifically, for gamers who no longer own the 360.) It's actually stated in the BC media info,
if you would like to purchase a game for backward compatibility (if it's a qualifying title), you can buy a physical copy in store, or buy a digital copy through the Xbox Store and it will show up on the Xbox One "ready to install" list.

The problem is, the Xbox.com site still will not allow Xbox 360 purchases using MS credit. (Purchases for Xbox One work on Xbox.com, just not for 360.) When you try to make a purchase, even of a FREE title, the purchase confirmation page pops up with "no
valid payment option chosen." It won't allow use of MS Credit, even for a free item. (I went to re-purchase a free title - Hexic - to test it out today, and ran into this issue.)

When can Xbox One users expect to be able to successfully purchase BC titles (including taking advantage of 360 Games With Gold offers) without having to own a 360 or tie a credit card to the account?)

    Thanks in advance!

    :)

  2. How do you buy "bundle only" games?

RustyBucket21 is correct. As of right now, you can't buy Xbox 360 BC games from your Xbox One, only from the website or your Xbox 360. Hopefully they will enable purchasing BC games on the One soon. In the meantime, in order to buy free Xbox 360 items
from the website they require a method of payment. Having money on your account from currency(gift) cards isn't sufficient. Oddly enough, you can however buy free Xbox One items from xbox.com without a method of payment on file.

Can You Purchase Avatar Items On Xbox One with MS Money?

    Hi everyone,

    I had a few questions.

    1. Can you now purchase Avatar Items ( including items from 360 games ) directly through the Xbox One console?

    2. Also, if you can purchase Avatar Items directly through the Xbox One, can you use your MS money in your account to buy the items?

Or, can you only buy Avatar Items if you have a credit card on file with your account?

    Could anyone please clarify that?

I don't currently own an Xbox One, so I can't test it out myself.

But, I tried using the Avatar app on my PC, but when I went to purchase an item, it says I have "no valid payment option" on file.

I got the same message when I tried to purchase the item through the Xbox.com store.

For security reasons, I prefer not to have a credit card on file. I prefer to use the MS money that I redeem from those prepaid cards.

    Thanks.

    You dont

Bc titles are limited and have to be preapproved and rewritten by a developer as the game has to be patched first

The new buy once play anywhere is only for new games as it is only meant for windows 10 games which will be the nrw format

Basically any bc woll be already patched thru the emulator imnsure they wiill have a list for already purchased titles so you dont have tonrebuy them

For any titles you dont currently have you have to buy it from a special section of the marketplace

The bc emulation doesnt work for every title each game has to be patched

As stated by the e3 press conference

The play anywhere requires windows 10 to work for pc

And unknown how it will work on 360

The 360of8oruses adifferent cpu then xbox one or pc

It uses a power pc risc proccessor vs cisc intel or amd for pc and cisc amd for xbox oneneed

Even full pcs has problems emulating risc without a patch an great example the ols legacy os x apps that were built

Probably if there is a xbox one version and a pc version andna 360 version all eould be queued for you once you buy it but it woukd have to be on all 3 platforms xbox one is expected to have windows 10 though so who knows

Not to be rude, but as an ambassador, you should probably have looked that info up first, ngoc. Your posts came off as condescending and dismissive to someone who already knows all about the different infrastructures of the different systems, who watched
the E3 conference, and who isn't actually talking about the Windows 10 "play anywhere" feature. I'm talking about the Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility for Xbox One which launched yesterday for the preview team and will launch soon to the general public. The
target will be for 100 titles to be available to start with in September, with more being released over time.

So, your last post essentially re-states my original question. The Backwards Compatibility FAQ states:

"If you want to purchase these games, you can buy them digitally from the store on your Xbox 360 console,
on xbox.com (search for titles in Xbox 360 games) or from your local retailer."

Which brings it back to my original question:
how is one supposed to buy the qualifying digital titles from the Xbox.com store (just like we can do with Xbox One games, without having to attach and use a credit card), if the 360 side of Xbox.com won't accept Microsoft Currency?

If you're on the preview team, you can check the full FAQ here it has a lot of good info on it! I posted this question here, as it seems to be more of an Xbox.com issue, rather than one specific to the preview program.

    Thanks for your efforts!

It appears you've found a glitch in the system. Please try again later.

Can you buy the product through xbox.com on a device other than your Xbox One & are you using a valid credit/debit card to pay for the item as it will automatically go looking for that option if you're trying to buy 360 games/content through your One.
