Can’t Buy In-Game Currency

For the past year or so, I’ve been unable to buy in-game currency in any game. I can make any other purchases, but when I open the menu to get currency, I’m not even able to click on anything. The error message varies from game to game, but it’s always something vague like “unavailable.” How do I resolve this?

Ideally, you'd contact Xbox support via chat and ask them to transfer you to the specialized department where they can verify your account.

Can I buy an Xbox Live Gold membership with the currency in my Microsoft account?

The currency in your Microsoft account can’t be used to buy an Xbox Live Gold membership at this time.
