Can't buy games. Error text: Can't authorize the selected payment option. Please ...

Hi,

I have Xbox 360 and I tried to buy some games.

But I got an error: Can't authorize the selected payment option. Please select a different payment option or add a new one .

My creadit cards are valids and corectly entered.

I hope someone can help me.

I am not able to purchase anything using my XBox Live Account

i cant buy MS Points!

Same here. Tried to buy Live Gold membership and they can't authorize the card. It's a mastercard debit card with a couple thousand dollars in the account, AND it is the card I use for ALL my recurring bills. Microsoft is the problem, not the card! I'm
also hearing people say they cannot redeem prepaid cards, so I'm not going out and wasting money on something that probably will not work anyway.

I've only found out about this last night, when I dusted off the 360 and tried to get a Live subscription. I wonder how long this has been going on.

 

So, just to cover all the bases, I tried signing up for Live via the console instead of the web site. Put all of the information in only to have it tell me, "Can't connect to Xbox Live. You'll need to try again later."

Funny thing is, I AM connected to live.

No response from anyone at MS about this issue? There is a service announcement, "Purchase and Content Usage Limited" but only says, "Affected services: Downloading items that you have already purchased."

Anyone else have any info?
