    You can't use your Microsoft account to buy Gold just as you couldn't use MSP to buy Gold.

    Can I buy a month of gold with my Microsoft account balance?

    I have $14.50 in my account balance after the MS points transferred over, I want to buy a month of gold with it but can't find a way how. I am currently on a gold trial account.

    On the xbox when I try to buy gold I only have the option to buy a year, so my 14.50 is not enough. When I try it on this site I can't find an option to use the money, i checked on commerce.microsoft.com but can't find a way. Is there anyway at all to use
    the money in my account to buy a single month of gold?

    You can't buy gold membership with prepaid cards. To purchase gold membership you should have a valid method of payment included in your account or you can buy a prepaid gold membership card.
