Sounds like your ISP was a good investment though.

 

I do know that Xbox Live has had issues over the last 24 hours, that will probably explain your online being "hit and miss". As for the slow loading and freezes when going back to home, I'm not sure, perhaps other people can suggest a possible fix.

The only thing I know of is to hold the power button on the console for ten seconds when turning the console off.

 

I agree with you, I am Very disappointed and expected so much more from my purchase - this was meant to be a big update from a 360 PhFFFFFF

Out of the box a stupidly big update - all apps need to be downloaded including the bluray app which is odd because it has the drive built in

Every game disc needs installing which is massively frustrating as its not a load a disc and play machine its an insert a disc while I WASTE YOUR LIFE machine and each game needs a network download NEARLY AS BIG AS THE GAME DISC

Internet is hit and miss and with tom Clancy's diversion or what every it calls itself the game doesn't have a save option and if the internet cuts you lose all progress

ITs not the stand alone machine that I was hyped up to believe it was its a portal to the internet which is unreliable - a VERY BAD CHOICE and A MASSIVE 'DOWNGRADE' from the 360

Even the 360 game discs could be inserted and played without need to do a network install for what I guess is a download of an emulated version for the xbox one - so is this fully backwardly compatible??

Microsoft YOU have massively disappointed an otherwise loyal customer - Would you recommend this product - NO I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND

 

OK lets look at some plusses - the power brick is NOW built in (??that is something that a competitor has done for some time??)

The larger external battery packs on controllers are now more built into the controllers for better look and feel - re other post on this I do much prefer the AA battery option of as with a competitors controller once its flat - its flat and you have to
wait for it to charge or play with it connected

The console is a decent size and the design is nice -

I just spent more money on buying BIOSHOCK the collection for it now to be made backwardly compatible (I don't know what language that is translating from but it means sit and wait for an hour or so at you meagre max of 7Mb/s

If you did ANY research prior to purchase, you would know that the games must be downloaded from disc before playing. Why you ask? Because these discs are in a blue ray format and carry A LOT more data than the 360 dvd data discs. They also don't spin fast
enough to play directly off the disc (same with PS-4 by the way, they have to download as well). It is a limitation of the technology. HDD spin more efficiently and at a speed that would disentigrate a plastic disc spinning at the same rate. Here is a tip
for you (as it seems your internet is not the best). Before the initial (first time) install of your disc, disconnect from the internet. That way the game does not try to download off the disc while also updating via internet at the same time. Once the game
is installed off disc, then connect internet and do online update. PS, online updates are going to be around for a while...and because gamers have complained and pushed for highest level of graphics and sound, expect game sizes to increase. If your internet
is weak, you accept these facts, or find another hobby. PSS, if you change your settings to allow "updating while in stand-by mode" your games will update automatically at night while you are sleeping (or, during the day while working).

 

Game installs from the discs are not very long and are only needed to be done 1 time. After that it's just pop in the disc and play. Any console PS3 or PS4, PS4 Pro and Xbox One that has a blu-ray drive needs to install the games. There's no way around it.

I never have Live problems. Im not sure what that's about, but it could be your connection?

Downloading apps regardless of the app takes under a minute though I do agree it was weird downloading a blu ray player app.

Hang in there, you'll warm up to it. I've had it since day 1 and I love it.

 

You do realise that the Bioshock Collection that you bought is in fact an upgrade version of the three games? so they will more than likely be at a higher resolution, more stable frame rate etc. The backwards compatible version is purely the 360 version,
nothing more.

 

Ok, to stop your rant, it looks to me like your of the generation that wants "EVERYTHING NOW NOW NOW" and if its not like that your not happy.

Basically the reason games have to be installed these days is because BLU-RAYS simply don't have the transfer rate required for modern games, PC games have been "install first, play later" since I can remember. If you don't like it perhaps you should wait
for the new Nintendo console due out next year, because both Sony and Microsoft will be using this method of gaming for the foreseeable future.

Regarding your other "points" if your really not happy with the Xbox One, sell it and get a PS4. You owe Microsoft nothing (and vice versa) none of us should be loyal to any company over something as simple as gaming. If the PS4 has features that you prefer
get one, but I guarantee that after a few months you'll realise that the PS4 also has its drawbacks and its not all "milk and honey" over there.
