    Can't add payment option when everything is correct


    Okay, this issue still isn't fixed microsoft? Really?

    Sorry if I come out a bit rude, but how in the heck do you guys not have this fixed? I see posts going back to 2010 regarding this issue...

    So anyways, I got a new debit card, tried to add it so I can play on live. It won't accept it and says to contact my financial institution. Did that, it's not them. Plus it's bank of america, one of the most used banks in the US. That excuse to contact them
    is laughable as if it's on their end. Been using them for years on live, nothing has changed. Literally anything I buy online or off works but Microsoft stuff. (That's embarrasing guys...)

    So I called the support line. They can't get it to work either. The guy was really nice but didn't know what to do. Neither do I at this point. What solutions did you guys come up with when you came across this error? (Yeah its pretty *** common according
    to a quick Google search and the rep on the phone)

    How [Mod Removed] hard is it to give you my *** money?

    So how do I fix this? Do I just send you my debit card in the mail so you can scan it since your Auth system is in shambles? (Joke of course)

    Cant buy any game

    Tried to buy some games but "can't authorize the selected payment option. please select a different payment option or add a new one or check if the bill adress is correct" I checked everything, xbox live status is alright, my bill adress is correct,
    talked with someone of my bank and still nothing. also cheked with another credit card and still nothing. I bought a game days ago, how is this possible? :/ pls help and thanks

    You could try adding the card at commerce.microsoft.com. If that doesn't work then I would recommend setting up a paypal account using your bank and then adding the paypal account at commerce.microsoft.com.

    Based on your description, you are trying to purchase a PC Game Pass subscription, but it didn't go through due to an error that it doesn't match the card information. Let's work on this together.

    May I know if your payment instruments and account details have the same information?

    We recommend updating your payment method. Here's how to update a payment method:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft account you want to update.

      Microsoft account
    2. Go to Payment & billing and select Payment options. You can add or edit payment methods from here.
    3. Under Payment methods, you can Add a new payment method, View or edit card, or Remove card.
    4. Enter your updated info and select Save.
    Let us know if these works.

    I'm having the exact same problem as well. Everything was going fine up until yesterday when I got this message when I tried to purchase a game online "Can't authorize the selected payment option. Please select a different payment option or add a new one."
    Someone please help

    You should be able to do it through www.xbox.com Sometimes directly through console can be tricky. Also, check your connections, just in case!
