Can't add my friends to my friends list

All my friends that I had in my favourites list have been dropped down to followers and I can't add them to my friends list again.

every time I try it just comes back with unknown error.

I can add other people in my followers list to friends, just not anyone who was there before.

i have changed nothing this appears to be a rather annoying glitch.

Can't add people to my friends list

I get a message saying that they can't add this person now try again later . I don't have a full friends list and they haven't blocked me .

Try resetting your Xbox by holding the power button on front of the Xbox until it turns off then unplug it for 5-10 mins

It's not a problem with the Xbox. I did that first. It's not letting me add them from the Xbox live webpage iether.

I may be wrong but if it’s not letting you add them, they disappeared from your list and their friends list went to 0 it seems like they may have blocked you. 😔 You can’t see someone’s friends anymore when they block you and it doesn’t let you add them. Can you see the rest of their profile? It may also be a glitch but if it’s only happening with that one person it sounds like they could have blocked you.

I just want to confirm if this is happening to a specific friend only or to multiple friends of yours?

Have you also tried to add your friend via the Xbox app on mobile and on the website https://account.xbox.com/Profile?

Please ask your friend as well to add you back as a friend.

Its only happening with the specific friend i mentioned at the end of the comment. I checked their friend list and it went from 8 to 0. I think something might have happened to their account. I'll try to refriend them via website like u suggested.

Note: Tried the website. Won't let me do it there either.

Sorry to hear you are having issues adding a friend. It might be worth asking your friend to get someone to try and add him as it could be his account causing the issues. If you can add others then your account sounds fine. It could be something has changed on his account.
