Can't add money to account

Hello! You will need to redeem a Microsoft gift card on the redeem page to add money to your Microsoft account. The full amount will be added to your Microsoft account and can be used to purchase movies, games, in-app purchases and physical products. It can be used to purchase an Xbox-related subscription, but not a Microsoft 365 subscription. If you don't have a Microsoft gift card, you can buy one online: Make sure your payment methods are up to date in your Microsoft account. For more information, see change the payment method or credit card linked to your Microsoft account, or Payment and Order Options. Go to the gift cards page in the Microsoft Store and select the Xbox or Microsoft gift card. From the drop-down menu, select the amount of money you want to buy and add that amount to your cart. Go through the checkout process (you will need to sign in to your Microsoft account with your password). Make sure your name and email address are shown as the recipient and complete the purchase (if you buy a gift card for someone else), it will not add money to your account. Confirm that you have received an email with the gift code. Go to the redeem page. If you have more than one Microsoft account, make sure you are signed in with the correct account. Sorry again for the issue with adding funds. I was able to find out it is a known issue and they are looking into it. As an ETA there isn't one. I will try to update as soon as I hear anything new.

I'm having this exact problem today, so it hasn't been resolved yet.. I just go around in circles when trying to add money to my sons account via the website. I follow the "add money" process but after selecting the amount I just end up back at the start
of the process... frustrating, as I'm usually remote from where my son and his console are so trying to do it via the console isn't an option I can try quickly.

You can also try to remove and re-add back your account or the child account vice versa from the device and try to transfer the funds again. If it doesn't work, better contact Support so they can check if there is a need to fix within the account such
as risk rejections as this can be fixed easily once you have contacted them.
