Can't add gold

please try to manage your payment option via
http://account.microsoft.com also check
http://account.microsoft.com/services to check if there isn't an outstanding amount (payment due) on that payment option, since that should be sorted prior to being able to remove the payment option or to redeem a prepaid gift card.

You can't add an Xbox Live Gold trial if you already have an Xbox Live Gold subscription

it could be a region issue, but also, you can't add a trial to a gold subscription.

It's more than likely because they have gold memberships that you can't add them.
