Can't add any credit card or debit card to my account.

I have a paypal account associated with my account, yesterday I bought Bioshock Infinite & that worked fine.

Then afterwards I tried to buy another game & it wouldn't let me. Gave me some kind of error message.

I have a lot of money in my paypal account so that is not the problem.

So I go to my account at xbox.com & try to add a credit card.

I get these error code every single time.

"Use a different way to pay
This payment option won't work. Use a different or new way to pay. If you have questions, please ask your bank.

I tried 2 different credit cards & a debit card & I tried entering the information on two different browsers.

All give me the error code.

I also tried removing my paypal acoount & it will NOT LET ME!

It keeps telling me that I need to change my subscription from renew to stop (I tripled checked), which I did last night, but it still keeps telling me to cancel the auto renew option before being able to remove my paypal account option.

This seems like it will be the start of a LONG NIGHTMARE having to deal with Microsoft to try resolve this issue.

Having to link credit card to paypal

Ok so I try to add my Paypal account to my Xbox Live membership but everytime I try to do it, the page says "To complete your purchase, please add a new credit card or debit card." "Link a new debit or credit card to make an instant payment"

1. I don't have a credit/debit card.

2. I have positive amount in my Paypal account.

This happens everytime I log in or try to link my paypal from this website.

Please help!!

This is incorrect.

Your debit card uses either MasterCard or Visa for processing(if not, then you couldn't use it on Live anyhow), in which case any purchases NOT done with a PIN are protected the same as a credit card. If you debit card is compromised and money is spent, then you just file a claim with your bank, and while they do the investigation they will reimburse any money lost.

If a PIN is used on a purchase then you will be liable, but even then not 100%, if there are criminal charges filed then the banks will work with the consumer to resolve the issues, though it can take a long time(in which case you would be with out your money).Click to expand... You're correct. I only ever use my debit card at ATMs. Forgot that it has CC capabilities. Still, I'd prefer to use a CC that is not directly tied to my bank account.

This definitely sounds like an odd issue. Which region (country) do you live in and is your gamertag set for the same region? I've looked up that error online and it seems as though the issue could be cause by having your gamertag set to a different region.

Also, please check commerce.microsoft.com to see if you have any outstanding payments on the Microsoft account. A few months back my account was locked out because a payment was not going through the bank properly. If this is the case then support should
be able to take the payment from an alternate source.

All to my knowledge you can not add a Debit Crad you can only use a Credit Card. When you try adding the debit card to the account and you are getting the error message BC the system only takes credit cards

After ringing them again they can't let me use paypal for some reason but as I have a debit card not a credit card the man on the other end for microsoft tells me that most people use the add credit card and put their debit card details in and purchase that
way I was dubious about this as with Paypal you don't have top disclose your bank/card information so I changed my payment method to credit card filled in add credit card with my debit card details and I can purchase online with my debit card. Microsoft also

My account is from Canada. I can't use any different payment methods since I'm too young to get a credit/debit card. I use Xbox credits

Your credit card actually...i wish i could add my debit card on the X1!!!!!!!!!!

You need to have a Credit Card or Debit Card to purchase any Xbox 360 Game. (You can't use Microsoft Credit)
