    Can't add an account to a new Xbox One X.


    I just bought a new One X Gears 5 bundle and after hooking it up and setting it up, it won't let me add an account. It doesn't give an error code at all. A screen pops up with a spinning wheel, it spins for a second, then it drops back out to the "+Add
    new" prompt again. Network connection is good (hardwired via Ethernet). I can sign into my account on any other device.

    I've tried power cycling it, I've tried factory resetting it where I keep my games (not that i have any installed yet) and I've tried factory resetting it WITHOUT keeping anything.

    Still no change in behavior.

    Can't add an account to a new Xbox One X.

    It's fully updated, but shortly after i posted the question the XBox status page updated to show a Core Services outage, so I believe that's what's affecting me. Once the outage shows cleared, I'll try again to add my account and see what happens.

    It turns out that this was part of the outage that started on December 3rd. I got the alert that the outage was cleared, and once i got home, I was able to successfully add my account and sign in.

    REALLY unfortunate timing for me on the outage, but fortunately it's all working great now.

    Glad you bought the new xbox one X. It's very simple, just add your xbox live account to your new xbox and download your games. if you use an external hd, just plug your hd into your new xbox one x and also add your xbox live account.
