Can't Add A Payment Option

I've tried countless times to do it, because I have wanted to buy new games or content, but for the love of me I cannot add one of my credit cards to my account. Every single time I enter all the information, my xbox acts as if nothing happened and nothing
shows up besides one of my other payment options. Then once every blue moon, it says something about not being able to add the payment option if I attempt to add it on the xbox site. Giving me some sort of string of an error code which amounts to nothing.
What's the issue here? Is something just currently wrong with xbox that doesn't allow this change or what?

Can't add payment Options

Hello Hazel,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. At this point there is no service alert on our website that would cause any issues with adding payment instruments. Since you have already tried on console and online, I recommend
contacting Xbox support to speak with a live agent about your account.

On Step 1 select "My account"

On Step 2 select "Error messages and codes"

Skip step 3 and go to step 4 to select "request a call from support"

You should be able to do it through www.xbox.com Sometimes directly through console can be tricky. Also, check your connections, just in case!

After checking my connections, making sure I was connected, and even going to the website, I still have the same error.

I'm having this problem as well, I've been using my debit card for the last year and a half until it just went POOF. The payment option just vanished for no reason, it won't let me type it back in no matter how many times I update my account info. the link
above didn't help, I just want some games without wasting gas man.

I don't feel like that link was useful for me. Mainly because as far as I know, I don't have the card I am trying to use on any other account anymore. I had already removed it from another account and tried adding it onto a new one. Which is also weird,
because I have a credit card on both accounts. So that's just even more confusing.

The subscription given to me by discord is a 3-Month Xbox Game Pass (not ultimate), and I didn't notice that it says "Valid for new Xbox Game Pass members only", any way the problem isn't that I can't redeem the code it self, the problem is when I try to add a payment option no matter from where I try it doesn't work and shows the same error, even when trying from a new account on a different device and network.

The last time I purchased a game pass subscription was at 17/6/2023 and it ended 17/7/2023, I canceled the subscription and removed the card linked to the subscription after it.
