Can't access Xbox One Troubleshooting menu

I received a second hand original Xbox One. It won't boot past the green loading screen, so I'm trying to access the troubleshooting menu, but have had no success.

I hold down the pair button and the eject capacitive button, then press the power capacitive button, I hear the startup chime. From what I understand I should hear a second startup chime before gaining access to the troubleshooting screen, but what happens instead is while holding the two other buttons, the capacitive eject button makes its chime, again and again and again. I'm pretty sure this is halting my ability to get to the troubleshooting screen.

I've tried gently touching it, firmly, the edge, the center, different fingers. Doesn't matter, the eject butting just keeps chiming and chiming over and over until I let it go.

What am I doing wrong? Is there an alternative way to get to the troubleshooting screen?

Yes, it's challenging to identify that.

Since the chimes are not normal, that means, the console really needs a service already. In case the console is no longer under warranty, the best thing to do is to check with game shops near you as they have someone who can check it for you and get it within the day depending on the case.

I'm assuming it's well out of warranty. Regarding service, if a component needs replacing or repair, that's something I can't probably manage. At this point I'd love a "this kind of thing happens all the time and it's usually caused by X part". So that I can be sure I'm replacing the right thing.

I'm afraid you really need to keep on trying, otherwise, you can't reach the home screen and the console needs a service. To make things easier, here is the step:

Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in. Press and hold the SYNC button (located on the left side of the console) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console. Continue holding the SYNC and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the SYNC and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

When the console powers up, you will see the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

console.
