    Can't access Xbox 360 games on Xbox One after Gamertag change.


    Just yesterday I changed my Gamertag from SgtSlaughtrFest to , but today I found I can't play the Xbox 360 games I got from games for gold. Both Borderlands and Saint's Row IV say I need to be signed in to save any progress. On Saint's Row
    IV specifically, when I select the sign in option, it shows my old Gamertag SgtSlaughtrFest. I tried deleting Saint's Row IV and re-downloading it, but that didn't change anything, so I assume the same would be true for Borderlands.

    Gamertag changes.

    So I finally decided to change my username on my Xbox One but after an hour I wanted to boot up my Xbox 360 and it seems it didn't sync from my xbox one new username and still has the old username. Do I download the profile or do I wait till it updates on
    the Xbox 360 version? Because I can't access my Xbox 360 at all with that error saying "Xbox Live cannot login after changing gamertag."

    Gamer Tag is using real First and Last name

    If you have access to an Xbox 360 or Xbox One console, you can change your gamertag from there. Can't access Xbox 360 games on Xbox One after Gamertag change. ;)

    Hiya The Alpha Pixel,

    You would need to select the Download Profile option from the Xbox 360 emulation guide. Since you changed your GT, you will need to redownload the profile for it to show properly.

    If you have access to an Xbox 360 or Xbox One console, you can change your gamertag from there. ;)

    I don't believe that Xbox has any updates releasing regarding gamertag changes. As for the Steve tag. If they are showing 2 tags then it may be an issue between the older 360 gamertag and the Xbox One/Series gamertag. There are some things the 360 can't handle such as length of tag or password and so it shows as a separate one.

    And for my gamertag, I can still have access to all my games with gold and the xbox one game it's just the xbox 360 games with gold that I can't obtains the new ones (the old one still works)

    Where does it say you can't change your gamertag on Xbox 360?

    Xbox 360's are still online and still being used and still playing games so Xbox 360 is a valid way to change your gamertag... you are right, there is a bug and the bug is that I changed my gamertag in a valid way and its not propagating through the platform properly!

    also if you look above you see that Harry Callahan is also listed on my gamertag!

    The store on the Xbox 360 will be shutting down in July 2024. You won't be able to make purchases on a 360 after that date. - Xbox 360 store will close July 2024

    If after the 360 marketplace shuts down and you want to change your gamertag, you can do so either on an Xbox One, or through the website. Change Xbox live gamertag

    Anything purchased from the 360 marketplace prior to its shutdown remains yours as you purchased it.
