    Can't access MSFS 2020


    I get an error:

    Code: 0x00000000

    when trying to launch MSFS 2020.

    I paid a lot of money for this simulator and it has been completely worthless to me for close to a week now.

    No fixes on MS sites have worked.

    Please help urgently.

    I'd probably re-install Gaming Services as it doesn't really affect anything as it's only invoked when running games and I believe it may be a dependency from what I've seen in other posts in regards to MSFS2020 not launching. Some of the steps involve removing/repairing Gaming Services but from what I can divinate it seems like it's required for things to work.

    I can understand that this is very frustrating for you and appreciate that things haven't worked out so far. See if re-installing and then repairing MSFS2020 has any appreciable affect - Repair apps and programs in Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

    Hi there,

    It is a Microsoft Store Purchase installed on my internal hard drive. Brand new extremely powerful and expensive PC (5 months old) purchased exclusively for MSFS2020...

    I might have uninstalled Gaming Services through PowerShell among other attempted fixes during my quest this week to try and resolve the issue myself through advice obtained on the net.

    I have been in contact with Microsoft Tech support over the phone this evening.

    The tech advisor at Microsoft tried to resolve my problem remotely but was not successful either.

    I have been told that numerous other customers have the same issue and Microsoft is trying to resolve it through upcoming updates.



    Very frustrating and disappointing.

    Sorry to hear you've been unable to play MSFS2020. Out of curiosity could you advise whether this is a Steam or Microsoft Store purchase and whether it's installed to an external or internal drive? Also have you removed anything such as Gaming Services from your machine?

    Have you tried running a repair on it though as opposed to the reinstall? Certainly agree that Gaming Services is the fulcrum here as it does seem to be a dependency. Perhaps worth trying to get that re-installed independent of MSFS2020 first before attempting to reinstall MSFS2020?
