Can't access messages

A few days ago I noticed when I tried to access messages via the xbox app for Windows 10 it would crash/force quit (no error was displayed). It does this consistently. However, if I click on a friend and then click the message button I can access my messages
for that friend. I also found that when I try to access messages through the xbox.com website I get this. This appears on multiple computers on completely different networks. I can access messages on my console and on the smartglass app for iPhone.

I can't access my messages

Today, I can't access my messages. When I check my messages via Xbox, it doesn't give me the gamertag of the sender and I get an error message saying "We can't get all your messages right now. Check back later". When I try to check via xbox.com, I get "An
error has occurred, please try again later".

Is the messaging system down right now? Or is it just me? If it's the latter, is there any way to fix it?

I’m not sure if there’s a way to fix it. I have the same problem.

 

Hey man, Ive had this problem too. To fix this open the app on your mobile device and if you see any messages from xbox live delete them. Now log out of the app on your win 10 machine and log back in..it should work

 

I have the same problem. Even deleting ALL messages using Smartglass Beta did not help - Xbox App keeps crashing as soon as I go to the messages section. On Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile.

Same here has been occurring for a few days now. I'll try deleting messages but it's super annoying.

 

New quirk, I can access all messages on the console itself, however, I've only been able to delete conversations from friends. The notification from Xbox can't be deleted. The crash still occurs both on the App and Xbox.com.

 

As of today 1/1/2016 I can once again access my messages via web browser on xbox.com which is great but my xbox app for windows 10 was still crashing when I clicked on messages (could still get notifications of messages and access messages for a specific
player, just like before). I did as Mr Ghost suggested to see if there was a system message from xbox live and sure enough there was! I was able to delete it via smartglass for iOS. Once I did that I could once again use messages from the xbox app for windows
10.

 

I was having the same problem on the Xbox Windows 10 app till I did what mR Ghost said to do, although I had trouble finding out where to sign out on it. The way to sign out on the Xbox Windows 10 app is you go to settings in the app and right below where
it says "General" and "Game DVR" you will see your account, click on your Account/ E-mail and below it, it will say sign out, click it then sign back in and it was fixed. For me.
