    Can't access game data after changing e-mail address


    Hi,

    few minutes ago I added a second e-mail address to my microsoft account which I now set as primary address. I don't have any problems signing in with the new address but when I start a game on my xbox one it says "we couldn't get your latest saved data".
    How can I fix this?

    Eventually they will all change to the outlook interface but not to @outlook.com if that is what you were wondering.

    Hey Manu,

    Thanks for your post. Try clearing the local save games on your console. This will remove the current save data that is local and re-download it from the cloud as long as you have Xbox Live Gold.

    1. Enter Settings for the Xbox One
    2. Choose System
    3. Select Storage
    4. Select Clear local saved games
    5. Confirm and allow the console to restart

    Hi there,

    The e-mail address tied to the gamertag with your son's data needs to be accessible to transfer it to a new e-mail. If it isn't, there's no way for it to be switched.

    Since you used a new e-mail (Microsoft Account), a new gamertag was created. If you follow the download profile steps and the e-mail/password combination doesn't work, you'd need to contact support for the e-mail provider to see if recovery is possible somehow.

    Hi there Hornet, here are a few tips I can think of:

    First off, try to remember the Email and Password of the old account.

    If you cannot, go to account.live.com and click 'Can't access your account?'. I'm assuming since you want to change the e-mail to the old one, you can still access the e-mail.

    Then, use a different e-mail that is not linked to a Windows LIVE ID (after you've completed the recovery steps) and set it to that.

    Then, on your primary account (which you want to change to the old e-mail), just change it to your old e-mail, and that should be all :)

    Input wrong email on Xbox, and now I'm not able to get back into it.

    I believe there is some mixup: The account that I put the wrong e-mail on is not my Microsoft account, but the Xbox account itself. I can't access the Xbox account because the e-mail address I attached to it is an email I don't have access. If possible, I would like to have the e-mail changed to the new one I created.

    I can take screenshots(hide private info on it of c) and post them here if that would help.
