    Can't access friends list or settings


    For some reason I can't access my menu on the left of the dashboard at all. It acts like it's going to(the screen dims), and then nothing happens. No idea what is going on.

    No one can access their friends lists or send invites. My friend and I can't either. What's going on and why isn't this a service alert?

    Can't access friends list or settings

    Please try and carry out a hard reset on the console and hopefully this should resolve your issue.

    To hard reset your console press and hold the power button on the front of the console for 5-10 seconds once the light on the power brick turned orange restart the console and hopefully everything should work afterwards.

    Hi, robjenkins2,

    Can you try going into the settings via your app list, then down to "ease of access" make sure that you don't have "high contrast" enabled.

    See if that's the issue and turning it off resolves it for you.

    This issue has occurred on many consoles after the last update. The only solution has been to factory reset them. Rarely the Hard reset will fix the issue but the definitive way is a factory reset. There is something wrong with the way the new update is
    installing.

    just outta curiosity is anyone who lost their friends list information on the family plan? my kids can access their friends list, have to join in on the party and game chats, can't send anything at all, but I can't do ANYTHING, no friends list, no messages,
    no invites.... nada

    you can access your privacy settings by first going into:

    1. settings
    2. Account
    3. Privacy and online safety
    4. Xbox Live Privacy
    5. view details and customise
    6. friends and clubs
    7. set to allow for friends
