Can't accept new Terms of Use for child account

My son is unable to sign into his Xbox Live Gold account. Each time he attempts to sign in, a message about accepting new Terms of Use appears. My email address (the parent account that the child account is tied to) appears in the account email field with
an empty password text field beneath it. When I attempt to enter my password and select the back button on the controller to indicate "Done", however, it does not appear to have retained the characters entered (no "*******" to indicate hidden letters). After
selecting the "Accept" button, it returns back to the message concerning acceptance of the new Terms of Use. This keeps occurring as an endless loop.

I've logged into my Microsoft account to check the child account is correctly associated. I can sign in without a problem into my Xbox Live (free) account, so I'm unable to understand what's preventing me from approving my parental consent in accepting
the new Terms of Use to allow him access to his account?

Cant accept new terms on kids accounts

when a child account is trying to accept the terms of use it shows the email that needs to accept the terms of use for the child account. make sure you are using the correct email and pw to accept.

if the pw is not valid reset the pw at account.live.com for the email shown on the screen when the terms of use pop up.

Hello, what you need to do is clear your system cache (if you don't know how to do this Press the Guide button, go to settings, and selet system settings. Highlight any storage device and then press Y).

Nope can't if the offline account cannot exist online

Either you have Xbox live account or a offline account

If a family account needs to be recovered then the parental account must be used to accept the new terms of use

Then you need to sign into Xbox.com and you need to accept the new terms of use with the child account

When you say you are recovering the 2nd account it is a online account

You cannot recover a offline account as it is only on your hd

You must accept the new terms of use before you can recover an account or accept the new update

A failed recovery will only corrupt the local copy of the gamertag

This is why you must recover the account before you can use it again

@Dae Dre the reason why you can't just use the one your account is under if your account is a child account, is because the Terms of Use is a legal document, which therefore has to be accepted by a legal parent or guardian, so for legal purposes they can't
allow you to accept it under your account if your account is a child.

And if you guys don't like the way Microsoft does things, then DON'T accept the terms of use and walk away from the problem. Its their rules they can do whatever they want.

Can't xbox just get rid of the terms and conditions parents have to accept? Since the parents can already restrict the child account and the parents must of agreed with the terms and conditions by allowing their child to use xbox live and buying it for them.
It would be so much better if they allowed the owner of the account (child account) to accept the conditions, after all it's their account.

This is so messed up, i'm gonna get a ps4 instead of xbox one

I have the same problem. I can't change my "child" account because I have to accept the new Terms but I can't accept them because it asks me for a parent account which I don't know. Where can I see which account is set as my "parent" account? This is so
stupid, I am an adult and have a child account - this is ridiculous...
