Unfortunately currency stored in a Microsoft account is not able to be used to purchase Xbox 360 content from the Xbox One console or website. In order to use that currency, you would have had to make the purchase through the Xbox 360 directly. For more

You cannot use your Microsoft Account balance to purchase Xbox LIVE Gold. That balance can only be used on Xbox LIVE Game store transactions.

This is due to the Microsoft balance (Microsoft store and Xbox one) and Xbox balance (which was used for 360 store) are 2 different systems in place that is why you cannot use Microsoft account balance to purchase the game. But if you had a gift card and
redeemed it on the Xbox 360 console you would be allowed to use it on the 360 store.

No, your Microsoft account balance cannot be used to purchase a Xbox Live Gold subscription.
