    Cannot view contents of the HDD on XBox One S


    Hooroo all,

    When I go to Settings -> Systems -> Storage -> Select the internal HDD and select View Contents the following message appears - "Search for app in the Store? You need to install an app for this task. Would you like to search for one in the Store? Yes/No"

    The Store loads and finds nothing. How do I view the contents of the HDD?

    HDD died

    Last night my HDD on my Xbox one S died and the console is out of warranty.

    I have a new HDD but I need to know how to get the OS for my Xbox one S onto the new HDD ?

    Cannot play downloaded Ninja Gaiden Black

    Fyi fat xbox hdds sat on top of original xbox 360 they ranged from 20-250 gig they cannot be used on s units without removing the drive

    Xbox 360 S had a 4 gig internal memory on non hdd Consoles with the option of adding 250gig or 320gig

    Anything else on a s unit is a modification till we see bigger drives

    With technology hdds capacity goes larger as gaming needs expand not smaller

    The only inbetweeen is usb drives at 16 gig max each but they lack the emulation software

    That's odd! If you haven't yet, let's start with a
    power cycle     of your Xbox One S console. If the issue persists after that, I would recommend a

    factory reset     of your console, beginning with the "keep my games and apps" option. And if that still doesn't help the issue, I would suggest attempting a full factory reset.

    Let us know what, if anything, helps resolve the issue!

    I'm having the same issue on a *literally brand-new console* that I just took out of box, powered on, and downloaded the update for.

    My question is this. I have a Xbox 360 S already and I am thinking of purchasing a new one, but one in the Black Matte style with a 250GB HDD. My current console has a 250GB HDD already in it. Can I use the new transfer cable that is meant for the Slim
    Xbox 360 and transfer my content from one 250GB HDD to another 250GB HDD? The new Matte Xbox's with a 250 HDD in them already have them, so I don't need to have two hard drives. So basically in escense I am asking it I can transfer content from 250GB to

    You shouldn't need your GT to view the HDD contents. What exactly are you trying to do?

    Weird can you try this remove and re-add the profile to the console just to refresh the message box.

    Settings - account - remove accounts - Bert MacGyver (or other profile)
