Cannot use remote play with the companion app

    Cannot use remote play with the companion app


    Similar questions have been asked before but I have yet to find an answer. Every time I open the Xbox Console Companion app I get the message "We couldn't connect to your console. Make sure the console is still on and connected to the same network as this
    device." I am connected to the same network with both devices and the console is on. I can only connect part of the time. That isn't the exact issue though. My question is, how in the heck am I supposed to connect to my Xbox (it is a listed device) when I
    try to stream it REMOTELY if it says I have to be connected to the same network each time?

    Yes, I agree. This is similar like remote play (app is the same). In the old xbox companion app for remote play you can use 4 controllers to remote play but unfortunally we canot use old xbox companion app with xbox series.

    Why is there an xbox companion app and an xbox app for PC? Just put all the features in one app.

    Two different things one companion app is a front end to your xbox for remote play

    Xbox app is storefront for pc and remote play and cloud play

    You won't get the party chat audio trough the remote play in console companion app, as you can use the party chat trough the Xbox app or game bar, so it's not necessary to have it on the console and shared trough remote play.

    Have you tried using Xbox Console Companion app on PC? Please try to install it from Microsoft Store - Get Xbox Console Companion - Microsoft Store. Kindly see if you can connect your console using this app.

    Regarding remote play, you may use Xbox app (Phone or PC) by following the guide in here: How to set up remote play | Xbox Support.
