Cannot update Xbox 360 or connect to Xbox Live

Hello everyone.

I bought a used Xbox 360 and I'm having trouble connecting it to Xbox Live. When I test the connection, it makes it up to Xbox Live and then says I need an update. It won't allow me to finish the update and gives me the error code 416b-4451-1380-267f-c000-0185.
I've tried almost every possible solution I could find but none have worked. I tried updating the Xbox with a disc but it only made it to about 85% and then gave me an error. I tried it with a flash drive and while it seemed to work a little better, it still
will not complete the update. I've cleared the cache multiple times. I've also tried the left right x left right x to clear the previous updates. I've tried all of these solutions multiple times and have had no luck. I have two Xbox 360s and an Xbox One connected
to my internet and logged into Xbox Live with no problems, so I can't figure out what is wrong with this one.

I also used my phone as a hot spot and connected the Xbox to it to try the update and I got a different error code: 416b-0000-0080-0300-807b-01f7. Still no luck getting it to update. I'm completely stumped on what to do to fix this. Could it be some sort
of hardware issue? It plays games fine, but just has no Live capabilities and is unable to update. I appreciate any input!

Caught in a dang loop

I am stuck in a dang loop on my xbox 360, anytime I try to do anything it says I have to download an update, but it fails saying cannot connect to xbox live. and of course, cannot connect to xbox live without doing the update. how am I suppose to resolve
this. also, guess my kid deleted the profiles, and of course will not let me create a new profile or download one because the update will not download because cannot connect to xbox live??? help!

I have tried re-installing the update, I cannot because I cannot connect to Xbox Live. I assigned my xbox 360 a static IP. I assigned port forwarding to my wireless router for ports 3074-UDP and TCP, port 88-UDP, port 80-TCP and port 53-UDP and TCP. Still
I cannot connect to Xbox Live.

I am actually having the same problem, but with a different error code. 445e-0000-3080-056a-807b-01f7. I contacted support on this issue I don't even remember how many times now. It's the update itself that killed your live connection. I've had this happen
now to 2 different consoles, under 2 different s-n/accounts. Both times, on both consoles, under both accounts, I tried to update the console as I normally would, and it only makes it a little bit down the downloading bar before it quits and says it can't
connect to live. When this happened to the first console, I freaked out, because we only use it for it's online capabilities, ie Netflix, Hulu, and TWC apps, as well as playing games online. I of course contacted support. I eventually lost count how many
times, but it was far too many for me.

We borrow my mother-in-law's console, same thing, xbox 360 slim. It worked great for a couple months, but last night it did the same thing as ours. The fatal update came up, and it was either, do the update and risk having no live connection, or don't do
the update, and definitely don't have a live connection. Once again I contacted support, resistantly, because I knew I would have to spend forever trying to catch them up to speed on my issue. Eventually this time they told me that there is a service alert
on my system. On the xbox support page last night, it said in red lettering, that there was a service alert. I read it, and it said that it was for the xbox one, which we don't have. Right now I just checked it, and it says that live is up and running again,
and my live still won't connect, and the update still won't install.

This update has killed my live connection on 2 different consoles, months apart, under different accounts. It's not a console issue, but an issue on xbox's end with this shody update. There is something wrong with it, and I'm not sure what it is. But it's
basically ruined our experience. It really sucks.
