cannot update the console

If you get a message to update the console/game the update must be applied or you cannot use it.

Your console does not have ad-ware or any virus, the Xbox 360 console is very secure and unmodified consoles cannot under any circumstances run any code which is not digitally signed by Microsoft. The adverts you see are part of the official dashboard update
and cannot be removed and the Bing search bar is for easy content browsing on the console. There is no way to reverse a major dashboard update as the update changes a hex value which disables an eFuse, each update needs a certain amount of these eFuses so
when one is disabled, the previous dashboard version cannot run. (Or simply, once updated, the console is incapable of running an older dashboard)

Try the solutions below if the Xbox 360 console software doesn’t update successfully, and you get one of the following error messages:

1. Restart your console.
2. Press the Xbox Guide button on your controller (center X button on your controller).
   
3. Go to Settings, and then select System Settings.
4. Select Network Settings.
5. Select Wired Network or your wireless network name (if you are prompted to do so).
   
6. Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.
7. Select Yes if you are prompted to update your console software.

MS has stated the sounds cannot be updated. They're apparently configured at the factory with no mechanism within the console to allow for updating.

tried to manually update, got the same code saying my console was modified and i cannot go online or update.
