Cannot update on initial startup

Ok, so I bought the Assassins Creed Bundle and after loading up and connecting to my wireless network (iiNet - ADSL 2+) it downloaded 6% of the 903mb update before stopping; then stopped at 7%, 5%, 2% now won't go past a few MB or above 0%.

I have tried a wired connection - no joy

Full system shutdown (held down the power button for 10 secs) - no joy

Unplugged and left the system for 15 minutes then tried it all again - no joy

I have tweeted XboxSupport and gone through this all again

I have called Xbox Australia who told me there is a issue with their server; Xbox support who are "not seeing any widespread issues,"

I have contacted my ISP as i read a post online stating that xbox was experiencing difficulties with particular ISPs but that it had since been fixed as claimed by xbox.com.au; The ISP said that they are not aware of any issues between them
and xbox live.

So if anyone has any ideas on what i should do, because at this point i'm ready to throw it through a window

Requesting Access to Preview Program Forums

I am a member of the Preview Program and since the new dashboard update all I get is a black screen after the initial green startup screen. I cannot view the Preview Program forums. It keeps saying group not found.

 

Problem with setting Avatar up

Bought new Xbox 0ne S 2weeks ago. Struggled with initial startup software dowload. Did an offline setup with USB. Now, cannot even set avatar up - Xbox drops connection. Internet connection on our side is fine.

Ok so i'll answer my own question incase others read this and are having the same issue.

If you are trying to do an Offline System Update be sure to use a standard USB. Turns out this was my big issue. So make sure of that.

 

I'm having exactly the same issue, got ,my Xbox one 3 days ago and the last guy I spoke to on the Microsoft support line said it could be up to a week before they figure it out! I've tried everything I can think of but all it does is freeze.

Lift your game Microsoft, something that I should have been excited beyond belief about has now been ruined.
