cannot update, connect to live or view friends list/settings.

after receiving an update for insider hub and a console update I've recently got a problem with my xbox where ...

when it starts up it tries to update but it goes to a black screen.

after a while it goes to dashboard where I cant connect to live when I try to press connect to live there's a freeze and black screen, I cant access friends list or settings because the xbox freezes with a black screen.

when I press the dashboard button I cant move to anything .. Cant report problem or turn off console because it gets stuck on cancel and it freezes still.

I've tried the off and on... Still the same problem ... I've tried holding power button for 10 seconds to no avail.

I'm currently waiting for a ethernet cable to be collected where I'm going to see if a wired connection will help get update and fix this problem ... But other than that I need help to fix this problem... My warrant/guarantee's have run out so I might just
have to buy a new xbox if It cant be fixed.

Connected to the internet but can't connect to Xbox Live

I have been having this issue since yesterday (April 3rd). I can see that I am online, can view my online friends, but cannot connect to xbox live.

Trouble Downloading Update

Hello,

The easiest way to update your console software is to connect to Xbox LIVE. To update your console by using Xbox LIVE, all you need is an Internet connection.

Connect your Xbox 360 console to the Internet. To learn how, please see Wireless connection or Wired
connection.

Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and then select System Settings.

Select Network Settings.

Select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network, if you are prompted to do so.

Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

Select Yes if you are prompted to update the console software.

If you receive a connection error, try using the Xbox LIVE Connect Solution.

you can access your privacy settings by first going into:

settings
Account
Privacy and online safety
Xbox Live Privacy
view details and customise
friends and clubs
set to allow for friends

how do you delete and then re add? i signed out and signed in with another account, it showed friends. I can see my friends on the website also.

There are several reasons why cant see your friends list on Xbox app at a certain time, one reason is maybe your profile is corrupted. We will need additional information to isolate this issue. Please provide us additional information by answering the following
questions below:

1. Have you checked, if you can see your friends list on Xbox website?

2. Have you tried to delete and re-add your profile into your Xbox app?
