Cannot talk to anyone online

I can hear some people through my headset sometimes, sometimes they can hear me but I can't hear them and sometimes I can't hear anything when they are speaking. This is only for in game chats and it happens across multiple different games. Does anyone know
how to fix this? I am beginning to regret buying an Xbox One. I cannot even speak to other players.

has anyone ran into this today? I cannot play online and I cannot sign in fully into my account. Is it just temporary or do I have to talk to Xbox support?

 

Unbanned but still can't communicate

I had a two week ban preventing me from communicating or playing online and the ban has finished and i can play online but i still cannot message anyone or talk in parties? How can i fix this?

 

Update your controlller i did and it worked

 

As Browny says, its almost certain that a controller update will resolve it.

If that doesn't resolve it, it'd help if you let us know what your setup is and what headset you are using etc.

...for example, I had the same problem a while ago I am using the headset adaptor and plugged in a pair of wireless Ear Force Deltas.

I could hear people but couldn't communicate. Turned out I'd accidentally put the optic wire in the wrong port on the Wireless Base unit! (facepalm)

 

I will try updating the controller. I am just using the standard wired headset with no adapter. I bought a new headset because my old one just gave up so I know it isn't the headset. I'll let you know what I find.

Where you in any MP matches before this? If so. It might be a comacation temp banned.

 

Try signing out then back in. I think there is bug in the auto sign in feature. This fixed my mic issue.

 

also, depends on what games. Titanfall is the worst for in game chat not working. Have to keep signing in and out for it to work.

 

So this is a common thing then. Okay as long as I am not the only one. It is not a ban because I can hear people and sometimes talk. Thanks for everyone's help. Hopefully MS reads these and fixes this as it is really annoying that a large system feature
system is so broken.
