    Cannot stream on Windows 10, but the Xbox is connected!


    Hello,

    So my Xbox One and Xbox One App on Windows 10 are both up to date. I can connect to Xbox One and even control the Xbox One from my PC. However, I CANNOT stream!! When I click on Stream I get a message that either Xbox One or Xbox One App are not up to date
    and it cannot stream, however both are up to date.

    My Xbox on Windows version is 8.8.15003.00000

    Xbox One version is 10.0.10586.1016 (th2_xbox_rel_1510.151118-2147)fre

    Windows 10 Xbox app no "Stream" button

    As the title says, there is no "stream" button once I connect to my Xbox One in Windows 10.

    So far I have:

    • Turned on Stream settings in Xbox One preferences
    • Logged into the Windows 10 Xbox app
    • Connected to my Xbox One in the Windows 10 app
    • Connected my Xbox One controller to my pc via data capable usb cable, I had to update the drivers before the controller would vibrate to let me know it had connected.

    If anyone can help me out that would be much appreciated! Thanks

    How old is the PC. Is it newer with modern PC spices. Or it a old WIN 7 computer that you upgraded to WIN 10. Because if was like a WIN 7 computer before you upgrade to WIN 10. Some of the computer spices might preventing you from streaming.

    Hi, no it's not possible, as most laptops have a hdmi out connection, not an hdmi in connection. The only way you can use a laptop as a monitor is to use Windows 10 Xbox app and stream the xbox one to Windows 10 via that method. As you say you have Windows
    7, so you cannot do it anyway.
