Cannot start the game - Xbox says 'Do you Own this game or App'. Digital Version.

Hi,

I bought the digital version from the Xbox store in November. Went to play the game today and I receive a message from the Xbox asking 'Do you own this game or App'.

I did not buy the disc, only the digital gold edition.

If I go to the Xbox store, it says that Far Cry 4 is 'Unavailable'.

What do I need to do to be able to play the game ? None of my other digital purchases seem effected.

Xbox Liscence transfer not working proprely ?

Is your xbox still his home xbox?

Are you seeing the game in the ready to install section and trying to install it?

Once you make your xbox his home console any digital game he owns should automatically show up in the ready to install section of your console.

Have you tried playing any of his other games and if so do you get a message that says are you sure you own this game or app if so sign in with the account that owns this game or app.

On Xbox One, do you own a disc or digital version?

If it's the disc, you can't install it in Windows.

Play anywhere only goes for digital versions of games.

 

Perhaps I should name the game.... Far Cry 4 will not start for me on the Xbox One.

 

You are not the only one, I am having the exact same problem I even uninstalled then reinstalled the game with still no luck. Still saying unavaliable. Ubisoft could not help and I have been waiting on the phone to xbox live now for 45 minutes and still
not spoken to anyone. Frustrating!!!! Will post if I have any luck..

Its now a known problem and being worked on. Keep onto Xbox support so you can give them your specific details.

Does not bode well for the future of our digital collection..

Hi Dom,

After several suggestions from xbox support which did not work they have now told me to set my xbox one back to factory settings and re install the game, which is still in the process of installing. (Fingers crossed this will work but doubtful). I did not
mind doing this as did not have much installed on it.

I'm wondering if it's an issue with the purchase of the digital gold edition as this is the version I have purchased. I can log onto my sons xbox one who has purchased the normal digital version and play on my gamer tag and it is working perfectly fine
with all my progress saved.

Hopefully it will be resolved soon.. we pay a lot of money for these games.

Same here. Digital copy.. Thread above are UK I believe. I'm in the Mid-West, US so it appears to not be a regional issue. I've decided to never buy a digital copy again. Especially since one of the "solutions" is to log into Xbox Live Account. Really?
Does this mean you have to have Xbox Live to play digital copies? I dont get it.

 

Hi all, someone on the ubi forums for Far cry said that xbox support has told them that the game will be unavailable for 24 hours.. Not good...

If I pay for a game, I expect to play it when I want to !

Yeah, that confirms it for me. I won't be buying another digital copy of any game again. This is the type of thing that trumps the convenience of digital downloads.

Same here.. I am so f in *** w ms...xbl ...and the whole xb1 lie. Console and interface are a complete failure as is xbl with its never ending issues ( this one, chat, log in and server errors etc...). never buying from their store again. And support is
non existent- waiting 8 mins to start chat and after 8 mins it said....8 mins wait. Frustrated...p*ssed...fed up microsoft

I purchased a digital copy of call of duty advanced warfare same problem as these guys above need help said to sign in to xbox live or insert disk but I bought it on the xbox ..... please help
