    Cannot start games using xbox app on PC


    As the title implies I cannot start any game using the xbox app on PC even though I have game pass PC, am logged into my account, and I have the game downloaded.

    I have tried numerous fixes and nothing is working. I have opened up powershell and reinstalled game services, I have redownloaded the xbox app multiple times, I have tried to go into task manager and set all gaming/xbox related stuff to automatically turn on, and all of this was to no avail.

    The only issue I can see is that my PC is logged onto a different microsoft account than my xbox account and perhaps that is causing an issue? It doesn't seem to make sense though because on the xbox app I am logged in on my correct account and I am able to start the game (in this case Halo Infinite), but during the initial loading bar sequence about halfway through the game hard crashes and leaves me back on my desktop.

    Please help me with this issue, otherwise I will be cancelling my xbox games pass pc subscription and buying all my games from steam.

This might be a glitch with the app, so, I suggest uninstalling the app completely! Everytime that it tried to give me a hard time I do this and it works wonders! Here are the steps!

    Started having same issue with Xbox Console Companion App. Uninstalled/reinstalled app on PC, reset the XBOX One console and still issue.

    I've started trying to stream via Xbox App. Everything seems fine until actually playing a game. Button presses and using controller seem to stutter, not register.

    So currently cannot stream my Xbox via my PC in any capacity.

    you will have to reformat it on the pc for use on pc.

    on the xbox if you format for games and apps then it formats the drive to only work with xbox so you cannot access the game files etc.

    you can format the drive on xbox for clips and screenshots which means it will still pickup on pc.
