Cannot sign in to Xbox App (Windows 10)

Discus and support Cannot sign in to Xbox App (Windows 10) in XBoX on Windows to solve the problem; So.. I forgot my password and decided after like 6 attempts, to reset it..     So.. I forgot my password and decided after like 6 attempts, to reset it.. I did this via the Xbox app. Now, every time I try to sign in I get "We were unable to sign you into xbox live"..

    I can sign into every other microsoft app and service no issue, and even my xbox itsself is fine. I have checked xbox/microsoft status and everything shows as okay. I ran Xbox Network check on my PC and again everything came back okay.

    I have tried absolutely everything. Uninstall/reinstall.. Repair.. delete data.. msconfig and restarted all processes.. I'm at a loss..

    Anybody any ideas if there is an actual issue, or how to solve?

    **UPDATE - Managed to fix it**

    1) Close all xbox applications and processes on PC.

    2) Account settings (microsoft website), remove your PC device.

    3) Account settings (PC), remove your microsoft account by chosing 'sign in with local account'.

    4) Log in with local account and repeat step 3, but this time add your microsoft account again. (This adds it back to devices on microsoft)

    5) Click 'verify' which lets Microsoft know you want to confirm/uniform all your settings and passwords accross your microsoft devices.

    I was then able to open xbox app and log in with no issues! I think what had happened is the device/app had been shadowbanned as I made a few incorrect attempts before I reset my password. This wasn't communicated in any way, no emails, no error codes, and
    nothing showing this anywhere on my microsoft account.

    Games not launching (but they were yesterday)

    I am also finding that I cannot sign into my xbox app and cannot play the games. It has only happened recently and means that I cannot access it. I am on Windows 10 on a lap top.

    Yeah it let me in.. but in the meantime I decided to just basically reset my accounts and it worked, I'm back into the xbox app now!

    Fix:

    1) Close all xbox applications and processes on PC.

    Hi.. Thanks for the reply.

    So I shut down all Xbox apps/processes on my PC then ran wsreset. No luck, still doesn't let me log in.

    I think this is account specific. On my main xbox/microsoft account which has xbox ultimate, I cannot log in. However, I have a second microsoft/xbox account that doess not have any subscriptions but this logs in fine?

    The confusing thing is my main account is working on everthing else including my actual xbox

    so if you go to settings on windows and on gaming tab, xbox networking, is it showing its connected? if yes then do "wsreset" command from the start bar and try again, if no check the UPNP on the admin page of your router. make sure that's enabled and
    restart the router, restart the pc too. also allow the app through the firewall if all didn't work. hope this helps.
