Cannot sign in to Xbox 360 account anymore.

Hello,

I have not been able to sign in to my Xbox 360 account in the last week. (March 2021)

Problem:

When i type my password i get a two step verification prompt for an app. I do not use this.

My password is correct and works with xbox.com and my profile and other microsoft accounts.

I have changed it several times to try that to no avail.

This problem according to other posts/threads seems to be occuring in the last year. Why?

Can support please advise to solve.

My unit Xbox 360 works flawlessly and i have been enjoying gaming for the first time in a decade.

Technically speaking, there is no such thing as a 'Xbox 360 account' as Xbox accounts work on all supported Xbox consoles. If you have enabled two step authentication you'll need what's called an App Password, this is because the Xbox 360 does not support two step for extra password protection.

Hi i have a xbox with two or three different accounts on the device. When i updated the xbox one now i have to resign into all the accounts. Which i cannot sign into anymore. Is there a way to get around this? Like by signing into my microsoft account instead?

you do keep the Games but only on thr existing home console

My password is less than 16 characters. My account isn’t on the emulator anymore because one of the steps on the other page told me to try deleting my account off the Xbox and re-downloading it as well as clearing the cache for 360 games. The thing is
that since I cannot connect to Xbox live I can’t get the account back on there at all so there are very few games that I can even play without signing into an account on the 360 emulator. And just to reiterate I can still play Xbox one games online fine.
However this issue with 360 games and the emulator and not connecting to Xbox live has been going on for at least six months for me.
