Cannot Sign in to Live w/o update and will not update even though the connection is fine

I've tried to sign into live on my 360. but it requires an update to sign in. The update keeps trying to download and then gives me error code 4099-0000-0080-0300-8007-045D even though my connection to the Internet is fine. What can I do to fix this? I've
tried copying the update to a cd and uploading it that way and it isn't working. I just want to be able to play our Disney Infinity 2.0 game. If I try to click on the game, it requests an update and then gives the following error code: 4099-0000-3000-0800-D000-0185
Any advice on how to fix either would be great.

Cannot connect to Live w/o update...cannot update w/o connecting to live!

My son's XBOX 360 is prompting us to update the system but in order to do this we have to be connected to XB Live. The update states that if we decline we cannot access XB Live so how the hell do we update this thing? I've tried via USB but that always
comes up with an error. I tried via burning the update to a disc but the Xbox is not reading it. Not sure what else to do other than tell my son he wasted 60.00 bucks on a years Xbox Live Gold membership with his Christmas money. Anyone with ideas or can
help???!!!!

Black ops 2 update

I just bought COD black ops 2 and it needed an update. It auto-signs me out of xbox live, but when i try to download the update it says it cannot connect to xbox live and I hould check my connection but the update made me sign out in the first place and
my connection is just fine. I have borrowed this game in the past from friends and it would always update just fine. Please help and tell me if its an issue with live or if its just that i have a bad copy of the game or something.

this errorcode D000 0185 may mean that the console could not find a storage device (memory unit or hard drive) during the software update.

Please see this link for all trouble shooting steps regarding this errorcode:
support.xbox.com/.../error-code-D000-0185

If the steps fail you will need to have the console serviced/repaired like mentioned on the link. Use
http://myservice.xbox.com to set up a repair/replacement and all details

at least you got to play online. when i turn mine on it won't even sign me in and says error cannot connect. this was before the update though

Have the same issue.. Xbox updated itself now cannot connect to live even though the Xbox itself states live, the store etc. are all working.

A for Amnesty

I'm getting a "cannot connect to Xbox Live" message since installing this update. I even uninstalled the game and reinstalled. Any ideas? My network connection is fine, unless this is just a LIVE issue in itself.
