Cannot sign in in games (Windows 10)

Something similar happened to me where it would not recognize that I was signed in even though I was.

I had to go to the MS store app and manually check for updates. On the top right hand corner click on the … and select Download and Updates.

Once I installed/pushed all Xbox/Gaming Services Apps that required updates everything worked fine. Hope this helps.

Any new game I install from the Xbox App on Windows 10 will not let me log in after starting it.

The Xbox app it self logs in to my Microsoft account automatically and signing out and back in works.

However if I start a newly installed game, it gives me the Xbox login dialog, but it tells me "we couldn't sign you in to Xbox Live" and below "The process terminated unexpectedly". No error code or other useful information.

The dialog shows the right account email address.

If I click change account and pick my account from the list it gives me a different sub message with try again later and error code 0xD000000D.

Also If I try to get any DLC from the xbox app, it looks like a dialog flashes by, but nothing happens.

Reinstalled the Xbox App, but no change.

I already did that multiple times. Even reinstalled gaming services. It looks to me like the popup for allowing things to access your account is not working.

Can I be signed into the same game on Xbox One and my Windows 10 PC?

At any single point in time, you may only sign into the game on one Xbox One console or one Windows 10 PC. You cannot be signed into the same game on both an Xbox One console and a Windows 10 PC at the same time.
