Cannot Set Up Xbox One S All-Digital Console

Upon reaching the Update stage during the setup process, I get the following error message:

"There was a problem with the update - Error Code: 0x8B0500B6 0x00000000 0x00000201"

I have tried everything I can possibly think of to fix it.

I've power cycled the machine too many times to count.

I've reset the console several times as well.

I've applied the update through the Offline Update feature, and confirmed the OS is the most recent version (again, multiple times).

I've reset my router a number of times, and confirmed the console is connected to the internet.

I've even exchanged my original console for a new one at the recommendation of someone at Xbox Support, and tried everything again several times on the new machine.

Still the exact same error message. At this point I have no clue what to do other than return the console and give up entirely.

Maybe it's a problem with the internet connection? Several people reported the same issue in this forum post: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...00000201/258a7439-992d-4696-b041-1e1e7e82b8ad

If possible, can you try completing the setup using a different connection. E.g. hotspot from your phone or in another house?

Wow, I used wi-fi sharing with my mobile hotspot and it actually worked! Must have been something about my specific wi-fi network the Xbox didn't like. Thanks so much!

You have names mixed up. There are no consoles named the Xbox One Series S or Xbox One Series X.

The Xbox One/One S/One X all have a disc drive.

The Xbox One S All Digital Edition does not have a disc drive.

The Xbox Series X has a disc drive.

The Xbox Series S does not have a disc drive.

All the consoles can play backward compatible games. The Series S and One S all digital edition can only play games digitally downloaded.

The other consoles can play games from disc and from digitally downloaded,

I hope this clears things up for you.

Nevermind this question I resolved the issue. The answer is the component is optional cable or settop box connection. I have neither so I skipped the step completely.
