Cannot set up Gamertag - 400 Error

We are sorry to hear that you’re having trouble setting up your gamertag. Receiving an HTTP 400 error when trying to change their gamertag on PC or mobile. You can try some basic troubleshooting steps such as clearing your browser cache and cookies or trying a different browser.

To set up a Gamertag, you need to create or sign into a Microsoft account using an email address. If you haven’t set up a Microsoft account before, the Xbox will take you through this process, or you can do it on Microsoft’s website.

Once you’re signed in, press the Xbox button to open the guide, select Profile & system > Add or switch > Add new, and enter the email address of your Microsoft account. You’ll be asked to select a gamertag for the account if it hasn’t already been done.



If you want to change your gamertag, you can do so by following these steps:

• Scroll right to Settings, and then select Profile.
  
• Select Edit Profile > Gamertag > Enter New Gamertag.
  
• Enter a new gamertag (up to 15 characters) into the space that’s provided, and then select Done.

Sorry to hear it. I checked for Diablo III in China from the marketplace on the website and it did not show up which suggests that the game is not available in your region.

If your gamertag is set for a different region than where you live then perhaps it cannot be downloaded to the different IP than it was intended for. You should contact phone support for further assistance on this as it would be considered a billing issue.

What is your physical location and what is the region that your gamertag is set to? Usually this error means that there's an IP issue and the content cannot be downloaded because of it.

Which country do you live in and which country is your gamertag set up for? This error usually pops up if your gamertag is set up for a country that you are not physically in.

If this is not the case then the game is not available in your country.
