    Cannot set my native resolution in game (3440x1440)


    Greetings,

    I just did a fresh install of windows and when I installed Gears of War Ultimate Edition from the game store the highest resolution it allows me to set is 2560x1080. My native resolution which my desktop is at and all my other games run fine at is 3440x1440.

    I used to run gears of war ultimate edition at 3440x1440 just fine, but now for some reason It will not allow me to choose higher than 2560x1080 in the graphics options in the game.

    Need some help

    Make sure you go to system settings, display and set the resolution to the TVs native resolution.

    My monitor's native resolution is 1080p. The quality is perfect on my PC monitor. In the display setting, it is set to 1080p. When lowering the resolution, it gets worse.

    Hi,

    I take it this for PC correct? If so, what resolution do you have the game set to in the game settings?

    The optimal setting is to set the game to the default Windows native resolution and use the resolution slider in the graphics settings to set the games internal resolution.

    For example, on my Modern Warfare, I have the game set to 4K (3840x2160) but the resolution scale is set more nearer to 1440P.

    This display isn't a fake 165Hz as per this review from Tom's hardware

    It's still totally the wrong type of display for an Xbox console though. The reason being is because it's a WQHD Ultrawide. That's a PC centric resolution of 3440x1440 which has a 21:9 aspect ratio.

    What does this mean? Well, the Xbox does not support Ultrawide resolutions. This means you've going to have to choose either 1080P or 1440P (1440P is 2560x1440), this will stretch the image to fill the screen, but as it's not the native screen resolution it will look blurred (and there is no way to correct this).
